Tie Bars

Tie bars are large diameter rods that connect stationary platens. The moving platen contains brushing that are used for sliding over the tie bar, allowing the moving platen to travel between the two stationary platens. If everything is in balance, the platens and mold stretch evenly. The distance the tie rod stretches is directly proportional to the applied load.

The degree of parallelism between all the platens determines the machines ability to properly locate and close the mold. The tie bars must be checked frequently to ensure that they are straight and parallel, and the tie bar brushing must be replaced as soon as they are worn.

We guarantee the structural integrity of our tie bars, which will provide you with a sturdy and accurate alignment mechanism to ensure that the mold is always properly located and positioned in reference to the machine during the injection molding process.
